About our designs
There is a lot of thought that goes into each of our designs, and we don't always get to elaborate on our message behind each piece. Therefore we've put together this post for whoever might be interested
The book by George Orwell "Animal Farm", tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy.
The animals are lead by the pigs, who are the smartest of the animals. At first, the pigs are assuring the rest of the animals that they are all equal, and will be treated as such.
Things quickly take a turn and the pigs start to gradually abuse their power, making the other animals work like slaves and die off from hunger
It's a commentary on the idea of a communistic society, where everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others...
The design works on a second layer, the pigs also represent the superpowers of the world, America, China, and Russia. Playing with the fate of the world like they would a game of cards.
I once knew a person at school who was very quiet and reserved. One afternoon whilst walking home from school I passed by his house and was shocked to see that his family car had been burned down completely.
The only thing that remained was the metal skeleton. I later found out that his family had owed money to the local drug gang and this was their way of letting everyone know what happens when you don't pay your debts...
In the book "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", mice are the most intelligent creatures in the universe, and they decide to create a gargantuan supercomputer to solve the age-old question "what is the meaning of life".
This supercomputer works for 1000 years, and comes to the conclusion that the meaning of life is the number "42".
The confused mice don't understand. The supercomputer says that they are not asking the right question, and if they want to know the question, it will have to create another supercomputer. This supercomputer will be its superior and a combination of organic life and technology, and he calls this supercomputer "planet earth"
